Back Garden in Sunderland Gets a Touch of Green with Fake Lawn
Easigrass : Kensington
Size : 34sq/m
Duration : 1 Day
What a Difference False Turf Makes to this Sunderland Back Garden
Mr G has his house on the market in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. He contacted Easigrass to give him a quote to install our artificial grass into his back garden giving it a splash of colour and making it appealing to potential buyers of his home. He chose Kensington and placed his order to have it installed into his garden.
A short time later our installation team arrived to install the fake turf. As seen in the photographs the garden has a smart paving area and then a large border which was currently mud. They set about removing the surface so they have an area to work from to install the base. The base is made of two parts. Firstly they add dolomite which is yellow on the photographs. This layer is compacted down using a whacking plate to create a hard base.
Easigrass just finished my back lawn it looks great and the guy s never stopped professional polite a pleasure to deal with 5 stars, keep up the good work
Mr G - Sunderland
Next they use ballast which is red in colour and is a mix of sand and grit. This again is compacted down but is then screeded to create a perfectly flat surface for our grass. They then add the weed membrane and pin it in place. Finally the team place the grass in position and start cutting it to size. To hold it in place they place bags of kiln dried sand onto the grass to hold it down until the final cuts have been made. The sand is then evenly spread around the fake grass and mechanically brushed in the act as a weight on the lawn.
The artificial grass installation in Hylton Castle is given a light hose down to rinse off any residue sand and looks fantastic now its finished.
