Low Maintenance Pet Friendly False Grass in Washington Tyne and Wear
Mr H had seen Easigrass on his Facebook page so called into our showroom to have a look at the grass range and speak with the team. He had a good look around and after seeing the quality of our grass he asked if he could make an appointment for us to go to his home and give him a quote for us to install the grass into his back garden. One of our surveyors visited his house and after seeing the fake turf range again Mr H made a decision and put an order in for our Easi-Mayfair and joined the queue for an installation.
Once he made the top of the queue the team arrived as planned to install the false grass. As you can seen in photos they start by removing the current surface which in this case was grass. They use turf cutters to remove just the right amount earth from the surface so they are left with a blank canvas to work from. Once the grass is all removed and taken away they set about installing our proven aggregate base. This consists of two mains layers. As you can see from the photos on this particular job we installed a timber frame first to retain the aggregate and borders.
My garden looks absolutely fantastic the lads worked really hard all day i can't fault them.
Mr H - Washington
The first layer consists of crushed stone (dolomite). This is yellow in colour and when compacted gives us a hard base to work from. The next layer which is red in colour is ballast which is a mic of sand and grit. Again this is compacted but then screeded to create a flat layer for our grass to be laid. The team then install the geotextile weed barrier and pin it in place. Now they are ready to install the grass. They start by placing the lawn over the area. Once they are happy it is in place they weight it down using bags of kiln dried sand so the grass can be trimmed and pinned where needed.
The final process is too then distribute the kiln dried sand over the whole area and work it into the base using a mechanical brush. This helps weight the grass down. Once evenly spread the lawn is given alight hose down to get rid of any residue sand leaving it looking fantastic.
