Kingston Park Back Garden Gets Artificial Makeover with New Fake Lawn
Mr S visited us at our showroom in Washington to have a look at our artifical grass range. He has a large garden of over 80 square meters and wanted us to give him a quote to make it more manageable to maintain as his arthritis was getting worse as he got older. Low maintenance is what we do so we booked an appointment to meet him at his home so we could give him a definite quote on his garden.
An excellent job by the guys. We couldn't be happier with the outcome.
Mr S - Kingston Park
Our installation team arrived to begin the install. Due to there being a large area that we were going to be installing slate we had organised a delivery direct to site to save time on travelling. This included the aggregate needed for the new fake grass base. The team set about removing the current turf surface down to our required depth on this installation of 60mm. There is no need to go deeper as unlike a drive or patio there will be no extreme weight on the lawn. Once this is done they start to install the first part aggregate base which is dolomite. This is compacted down using a whacker plate which creates a hard surface to work from and prevents any sinkage over the years. Once this is done another layer is added which is called ballast. This is compacted down but is then able to be screeded to ensure all of the surface including the edges are level.
The team then lay the weed membrane in place. Once this is cut to size they roll the new false grass into place. Once they have it in position it is cut to size and joints are sealed using or special adhesive. The lawn then has a covering of kiln dried sand using a dispenser which is then mechanically brushed into the base of the new lawn acting as a weight. Now the grass in complete the last job was to install the slate stone for our customer. After a light hose down this artificial grass installation in Kingston Park is left looking stunning and ready to use.
