Consett Back Yard Goes Green with Fake Lawn Installation
Mr and Mrs W contacted easigrass to go out and give them a quotation for their back yard to have our artificial grass installed. It is currently all slabbed and they wanted to inject some colour into it and also have an area for the grandchildren to play on. What better way than to have fake grass put down. There was two choice we could lay the grass on top of the slabs or we could take up the area they wanted and install the grass onto our aggregate base. they chose to pull the slabs up. An order was placed for our Chelsea range.
Our lawn looks great we are very pleased with it. The team worked tirelessly.
Mrs W - Consett
Our team arrived to install the grass. the first job was to remove the existing surface which was made up of a paving slabs. They had to cut most of the slabs to give a straight edge for the lawn to be laid within. Once this has been done our team is left with a blank canvas to start the install. They back infill the area with the first aggregate base which is dolomite - crushed stone and this is compacted down using a whacker plate to prevent any future sinkage. They then install a second part aggregate which is ballast. This is made up of sand, grit and fine stone and again it is compacted down. The team then screed the surface ensuring that it is perfectly flat ready for the grass to be laid.
The next phase is to install the weed membrane. the membrane is pinned down so it doesn't' move during the grass fitting. The new false turf is laid out in place and is held down using bags of kiln dried sand so that is does not move whilst it is trimmed and joined. The jointing strip is laid out along the join and adhesive is added. The joins are met and applied by the team ensuring the gap is equal and no glue spills out.
Lastly the team spread the kiln dried sand across the lawn before it is brushed into the base of the lawn using mechanical brushes. Lastly the artificial grass installation in Consett gets a light hose down and it is looking fantastic.
