Darlington Family Home Goes Artificial With Easigrass Chelsea in Huge Back Garden
Mr and Mrs H visited us at our artificial grass showroom in Washington as they had been looking online at fake grass and came across and artificialgrassne.co.uk. They have a very large back garden which is split between a lawned area and a barked area for their children to play on. The lawn was soaked through for the majority of the year and the kids just couldn't get outside to play on it without getting covered in mud. They had a look at our range of easigrass and from what they saw in the showroom they decided to request a quote. We arranged an appointment with them and they left with some samples to have a good look at which grass they would like prior to our surveyor turning up.
Om arrival to the property it was apparent that the garden was huge. There is also several trees which we would need to go around and the whole garden is on quite a steep slope so there was lots to take into account on this job. The family had already chosen our Chelsea range and just needed to know how much it cost which we were able to give them there and then. They loved the grass and placed an order for us to install all 229 square meters of it.
I'm Really happy with the lawn. The lads were fantastic thank you

With the garden being quite a bit above an average sized garden we make arrangements for deliveries to be sent to the job site. This helps our installers get on with their job without worrying about hauling aggregate and garden waste back and forth. We also make arrangements for the waste to be collected by a grab lorry to save any big skips blocking driveways for days on end. The installers turned up to assess and start the job. After a quick run through with the customer they started removing the current surfaces that were currently in place. By the end of day one the team had removed the surface and the surrounding block edge which was to be cleaned and replaced.
The next morning the weather had taken an unexpected turn for the worse and had been raining very heavily through the night. This made an attempt to continuing nearly impossible as the ground was soggy and slippy. If they continued they would have risked sinkage in the new lawn. After a day of sunshine the team turned up to start again. They added the first aggregate base of dolomite which is used to create a hard base to work from and prevent any sinkage. Our team barrowed 22 ton to the back garden which is only the start of the installation.
The next phase is made up of a gritty aggregate which again in turn is compacted down and then levelled creating a perfectly flat surface for the new lawn to be laid on. The installation followed the current lay of the land which sloped down hill to the bottom of the garden. The weed barrier is laid out and pinned ready for the team to roll out the new false lawn.
Installing the false turf was going to be a difficult task as the rolls were 18 meters in length by 4 meters and were very heavy. Also the team had the trees to contend with which was going to cause a lot of grief trying to lift the grass around them. The joints are set using our easi adhesive. The guys done an excellent job and managed to get the grass in by the end of the 3rd day. The team then using sand dispensers distribute kiln dried sand over the entire surface which is then brushed into the based of the lawn using mechanical rotary brushes. After a hose down the job is complete leaving this artificial grass installation in Darlington looking fabulous. A great job well done.
