Recent Project: Preston Grange

Front & Back Garden in Preston Grange
The customer were concerned that their cherished dog had nowhere at the back of the house to play in but was also a lot easier to keep clean than gravel that they had previously had laid down.
They had also spent a considerable amount of money decking and installing sleepers which look fantastic. Clearly, a little colour would not go amiss.
We start by digging down to the required depth for our sub base. This has to be done properly so as not to have issues later with subsidence or weeds growing up through the artificial grass. Our instruction was to keep some of the gravel for a border so we created a frame to separate the gravel from our new sub-base. After this we install a geotextile weed barrier, this is followed by a layer of crushed stone which is compacted into place.
The team then screed a layer of granite dust into place and compacted it down. Now we have a firm sub-base which will not subside or allow anything to grow through it.
Now the subbase is ready for the artificial grass the team set about preparing the chosen 40mm grass. This is the Ideal artificial grass for a natural look and soft feel underfoot.
The grass is rolled out and held down with sandbags while the installers cut and shape the grass. A layer of silica or kiln dried sand is then evenly spread and mechanically brushed into the pile of the grass to give it weight.
Both front and back areas are cleaned and as you can see The family dog is very happy as are its humans! Another installation that will change the lives of our customers and pets alike.
