Recent Hebburn Artificial Grass Installation

We all love having the grandchildren coming to visit and when they do for them to have a safe clean space to play in.

Well for the team at this presented a bit of a challenge as a wheelbarrow was replaced by large tubs to be carried through the customers home due to access issues in this back garden( We cover the floors).

The first thing to be done was strip back the old turf and earth to the required level for our sub-base to be installed. We take all that is removed to our disposal site which is then collected and recycled. This is when the real work begins, so firstly we need to install the geotextile weed guard to prevent unwanted weeds or roots to penetrate the sub-base or even worse the new lawn.

A layer of dolomite (crushed stone) is then applied which is compacted flat using a compactor plate. Then a granite dust layer is then applied which is preferred to sharp sand which will subside when wet. The granite dust will not and provides a fantastic firm surface for the chosen artificial grass.

Next up is the artificial grass, which is rolled out and held in place with bags of sand whilst the joints are set and the edges are trimmed.

To finish the bags of sand are then spread evenly over the lawn and is mechanically brushed evenly into the base of the new grass. Our team then go about gently hosing the lawn with clean water and the surrounding patio and paths. As you can see this was a fantastic fit by our team and the new lawn is ready for the trampoline.

Our delighted customers now have a great play area for the grandkids and a low maintenance garden with no need for mowing or dirty mud covered shoes to trail over the patio into their home.
